Commonly known as Jade, Pounamu or Greenstone, New Zealand Nephrite was originally used by Maori to make weapons, tools and jewellery. Thankfully this ancient art has been handed down to the craftspeople of today. This stone has been individually carved into the shape of a modern Hei Matau with genealogy notches and the unique design created by Nathan. This stunning flecked stone is carved from the Douglas Creek variety of pounamu. Traditional threaded design so stone is totally secure.

Watching my new son grow If you could live in another era what would it be? 50 or 60 years ago when pounamu (greenstone) was plentiful Best health tip? You may die tomorrow
